Amrap Chart Wrap – Ben Salter and Mark Seymour Top Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees artists from across Australia brought together on community radio.

Ben Salter has taken the top spot on the Amrap Metro Chart with the roaring single Boat Dreams having picked up a spot in 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20 and 2SER Sydney’s SERvin’ Up lists. Watch the evocative music clip featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane, Edge Radio Hobart, and 979 FM and Triple R in VIC. The track has achieved additional airplay on 4ZZZ in Brisbane, Ballarat Community Radio and Southern FM in VIC, and Byron Bay FM, Port Stephens FM, and Macarthur Community Radio in NSW. Mark Seymour & the Undertow have climbed to #1 on the Amrap Regional Chart with another ‘boat song’ entitled Two Dollar Punter, an ode to all who came to Australia by boat. The rugged track has received airplay in every state and territory on Gove FM in NT, QBN FM in ACT, RTR FM in Perth, Noosa Community Radio and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, PBA FM, Coast FM, WOW FM and Trax FM in SA, Nambucca Valley Radio, Highland FM and 2MCE in NSW, as well as Melton Community Radio, 3SER, and Plenty Valley FM in VIC. Oisima takes #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the reimagined house number Take your Time. The Adelaide beats man has racked up rotation at metropolitan stations across the country, picking up Album of the Week on FBi Radio Sydney’s digital iteration ‘FBi Click,’ Australian Feature at SYN FM Melbourne and a spot on RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection. Listen to his interview on hometown station Radio Adelaide’s Breakfast program, talking about his scrupulously produced LP Nicaragua Nights.

James Fox Higgins has entered the Amrap Regional Chart at #3 with the funk/soul single That Lady, featuring Lionel Cole. The Sydney soulmen have racked up further airplay at regional community stations across the country including 3RPC in VIC, Tjuma Pulka FM and Noongar Radio in WA, as well as 2AIR FM, Radio Skid Row and Eastside FM in NSW.

Perth electro star Kučka has debuted at #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart with her luminous single Flux 98. The lush, yet sparse track has picked up a place in SYN Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and RTR FM Perth’s Sound Selection, receiving additional airplay at Valley FM in QLD, 5THE in SA, RTR FM and 89.7 FM in WA, Radio Murrindindi and Triple R in VIC, and 2RRR, FBi Radio and 2RDJ in NSW.

Port Fairy singer-storyteller Áine Tyrrell has entered the Amrap Regional Chart at #8 with her transcendent folk number Where were You. The Lachy Doley Group debuts at #7 in the Amrap Regional Chart with the soulful single Conviction. The track has garnered airplay from blues-loving programs across the country including the illustrious Dave’s Blues Mix on Star FM in TAS.

Mike de Velta has broken the Amrap Regional Chart at #10 with the Texas blues of Bring it on Hard. The swinging single has garnered airplay at stations across the country including Gove FM in NT, Tjuma Pulka FM in WA, Valley FM in QLD, Mountain District Radio and 3NRG in VIC, and 2AIR FM, Port Stephens FM, Nambucca Valley Radio and 2MNO in NSW. Mike has been doing the community radio rounds across the country, being interviewed on Voice FM in VIC and his homestate station Heritage FM in WA.
