Ampol kicks off marketing in Australia with ads featuring track from The Go-Betweens

Fuel brand Ampol is back in Australia and has launched a multiplatform marketing campaign to refamiliarise drivers with its proposition.

The ads feature ‘Streets Of Your Town’, the 1988 track from The Go-Betweens.

The ‘Far and Wide’ campaign will run across television, as well as outdoor, cinema, radio, online display, social and video. There’s also integrations and sponsorships planned with The Project, Sunrise, Today and Fox Sports, as well as ARN, Nova, Spotify, Snapchat and News Corp.

Ampol Australia executive general manager, Joanne Taylor, said she knows consumers are excited about the brand’s return.

“For over a century, Ampol has been there to help Australians get where they’re going, no matter the journey. With the relaunch of the Ampol brand, the campaign showcases how Ampol is a part of the fabric of Australian life, with fuel that connects the nation,” she said.

“We know all our customers are excited by Ampol’s return and we look forward to welcoming Australians onto Ampol forecourts as we roll out the brand across the country.”

The campaign was created by Saatchi & Saatchi.
