Ali Barter, Alex Lahey and more among first round of names for Australian Music Week

Australian Music Week is returning for another year, with the industry conference and live music showcase hitting Cronulla Beach across November 6-10.

Today, the event’s first round of performing artists have been announced; David Garnham & The Reasons To Live and Gretta Ziller are to be joined by artists from all over the country including Leanne Tennant and Canadian visitors The Carbons and Hey Major.

Australian Music Week curator Geoff Trio has spoken about the 2019 lineup and it’s defining of a thriving Australian scene moving forward.

“In our fifth year we are proud to be producing an event that is as relevant not only to industry delegates but also to those that enjoy multiple styles of music in their playlists.”

“Australian Music Week is a non-genre specific music event and this year we will be opening up to the public with free access to all performances on Cronulla Beach across all five days.”

Lefsetz will also be recording several podcasts with Australian industry identities during Australian Music Week for The Bob Lefsetz Podcast as part of the event’s first Podcast Festival.

Renowned filmmaker and promoter Jeremy Dylan will also be in town to record an episode of his podcast, My Favourite Album, as well as Nate Goyer, whose podcast The Vinyl Guide is a must-listen for any vinyl lover.

The industry conference side of Australian Music Week will see over 20 panel sessions take place, covering topics including Management, Mental Health, Women in Music, Distribution and more.

To cap things off, Australian Music Week will be hosting the Sydney premiere of Tommy Emmanuel – The Endless Road on Wednesday, November 6th.
