AIR Awards announce Best Independent Label nominees for 2018
In April, the first round of nominees for this year’s AIR Awards were announced, recognising the incredible talent abundant in Australia’s music industry.
Now, the Australian Record Labels Association have announced the nominees for the 2018 Best Independent Label award, revealing a massive prize in store for the winner. Nominees for the esteemed award include ABC Music, Milk! Records, Dot Dash Recordings, Bad Apples Music, UNFD.
In partnership with Moshtix, the winner of the prize will receive a digital marketing package valued at $20,000 to help showcase their talent to the music public.
The award was first introduced in 2012 the acknowledge the incredible work done by homegrown labels, and to be eligible, the label must have artists or releases nominated for another award in the given year. Previous winners of the award have included I OH YOU, Future Classic and Milk! Records.
The nominees for Best Independent Artist this year include Alex Lahey, Baker Boy, Jen Cloher, Stella Donnelly, The Jungle Giants who all released stellar albums in 2017. The twelfth instalment of the ceremony is set to take place Adelaide’s Queen’s Theatre on July 26th.
