AIR adds unsigned talent showcase to Awards celebrations

AIR adds unsigned talent showcase to Awards celebrations

Similar to the way BIGSOUND Live in Brisbane and the Aussie BBQ at SXSW in Austin place unsigned local acts in front of top industry figures, a new showcase event will receive its debut in July, designed especially for Adelaide’s finest emerging artists.

Set to coincide with the AIR Awards and the inaugural two-day music industry conference in Adelaide (on July 27 and 28), the indie label body and Music SA have announced a showcase event for South Australia’s unsigned acts.

Taking place on the final day of the music industry conference, Scouted will be staged across Adelaide’s East-End, with stages located at Producers Bar, Crown and Anchor and the laneway between Tandanya and Producers Bar.

Scouted’s lineup currently features Tom West, Mane, Alana Jagt, Battlehounds, Electric Fields, Young Offenders, Bec Stevens, and Heaps Good Friends.

Music SA General Manager Lisa Bishop said:

“With key identities from the Australian music industry in town for the AIR awards, this is the perfect opportunity to highlight the wealth of talent that SA holds.

“It’s going to be really exciting to not only see these groups perform but to also highlight the astounding quality of live music venues we have in Adelaide and truly put South Australian original music in the spotlight nationally.”

Scouted is made possible through theUmbrella: Winter City Sounds initiative and the support from the SA Government’s newly established Live Music Events Fund. Through support from the Fund, the AIR Awards will continue to be held in Adelaide for the next three years (2017-2019).

Tickets are $20 + BF and can be found at musicglue.com/scouted
