Adelaide’s Fowler’s Live partners with NETGIGS to stream gigs across the world
Longtime Adelaide live music venue Fowler’s Live has partnered with South Australian tech company NETGIGS to stream gigs globally on its platform.
Earlier this year, Fowler’s Live had discussions with a number of US venues about working together on initiatives.
Of the streaming move, the club’s managing director Peter Darwin said, “This agreement has come at a crucial time for venues and artists where the traditional means ofincome for most musicians needs to change.
“What convinced me most to sign this agreement was how NETGIGS provides a new way for artists to monetise their music.”
NETGIGS chief executive Joe Mac explained: “The heart behind NETGIGS is to help artists to sell (virtual) tickets to their shows across the platform that can increase their capacity to earn revenue from their gig.”
The NETGIGS platform streams live music in HD resolution in real time from netgigs.com.
Darwin added, “This opportunity further confirms the commitment of Fowlers to provide opportunities for local bands that are cutting edge, and help to further their careers.”
The first show, Fire At Fowlers, is on Friday, August 24, and features Audio Reign, Imogen Brave, JackBuchanan, Pauula Standing, Nuseum, Damon Sparkes and some new NETGIGS artists.
Darwin said that his venue partnering with technology providers to bring further impact for Adelaide musicians across the globe will further build on Adelaide’s UNESCO City of Music status.
