Mushroom & Bucks publishing deal includes hits from David Bowie, The Rolling Stones
Australia/New Zealand’s Mushroom Music Publishing and UK’s Bucks Music Group have entered a reciprocal sub-publishing deal, effective January 1.
The two companies will represent each other in their respective territories.
The two companies have had similar pathways, Bucks set up in 1969 and Mushroom in 1972.
Mushroom’s catalogue ranges from Billy Thorpe, The Loved Ones, Skyhooks, Triffids, Hunters & Collectors, Split Enz, Archie Roach and The Models to current signings Nick Murphy, D.D Dumbo, Nat Dunn, Dan Sultan, Violent Soho, Julia Jacklin, Vance Joy, King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard, Jack River, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Gordi, Rolling Blackouts C.F., Hatchie, Jess Kent and DMA’S.
Bucks’ catalogue includes works written by David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Procol Harum, DJ Fresh, Run The Jewels, Brian Eno, James Blunt, Professor Green, Rudimental, Beyonce, Joe Strummer, CAN, Pete Doherty, Roni Size & Reprazent, Andreya Triana, David Arnold, Honeyblood, One Bit, The Heavytrackerz , Dusky Grey, Sick Joy, Life, Brooke Bentham and more.
Label publishing partners include Floor Sixx, Heavenly, Nude, Fulltime Hobby, Brownswood, Rekids, Arts & Crafts, VIVa and No Hats No Hoods.
Group creative A&R exec Sarah Liversedge Platz’ BDi Music catalogue co-writes by A-list writers; Amy Wadge [Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Tom Grennan, Boyzone] and Jake Gosling [Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Major Lazer] and will also come under this new territory deal.

Mushroom Music MD Ian James stated: “Bucks are a real music company that not only has a rich history but a presence in the United Kingdom that I’m sure will be of great benefit to our writers.
“It will be our pleasure to represent their music in Australia and New Zealand and through the pan-Asian licensing system in SE Asia.
