2016 Melbourne Music Bank Winner announced

Bank of Melbourne announces Tempus Sun as this year’s Melbourne Music Bank winner after a hotly-contested finale.

Anexpert panel crowned Tempus Sun the winner for their awe-inspiring track, Owls. The Moonee Ponds outfit has won a career-making prize worth over $60,000, including studio time with a producer, mixing and mastering engineers to record an EP, concept design, production, filming and editing oftwo film clips, 500 CD copies of the EP, a radio plugger, manager and booking agent, media training and styling, On The Map PR services for a month, an east coast tour and a spot at the renowned Beyond The Valley music festival.

Influenced by Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac and Mumford & Sons, they bring all the feels and just make you want to boogie!says Jac Phillips, Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand & Marketing.

Victorians chose 12 semi-finalists from over 500 submissions that showcased a broad range of homegrown musical talent. The 4 finalists battling for the top spot – Birdhouse, Tempus Sun, Bloom and Anna Oliphant Wright – were selected by almost 10,000 voters.

The judging panel crowned the winners after a finale performance at Arts Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall. Judges included Bank of Melbourne’s Head of Brand and Marketing Jac Phillips, Beat editor Cara Williams, Emily Cheung from On The Map PR, manager Matt O’Connor, Damian Costin from 123 Agency and Frank Varrasso from Varrasso PR.
