Flume looks set to dominate this year’s ARIA Awards, with eight nominations, and one victory already in the bag for Producer Of The Year. The young Sydney-based beatmaker will have some fierce competition from fellow globetrotters Tame Impala, who are nominated for seven awards, as well as Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and Birds Of Tokyo, who scored six nominations apiece.
This morning, ARIA announced the nominees in all categories, as well as the winners of the three ARIA Artisan Awards, and four ARIA Fine Arts Awards. ABC Music won all four Fine Arts Awards; Virginia Read became the first female Engineer Of The Year in the history of the awards, for her work on Sally Whitwell’s All Imperfect Things : Solo Piano Music Of Michael Nyman.
The ARIA Awards take place on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at The Star Event Centre, Sydney. General public tickets are on sale from 9am this Friday, 18 October, from www.ticketek.com.au Full list of nominees and winners below.
