The Weeknd and Harry Styles top ARIA End of Year Charts

The artists and acts who topped the ARIA Charts in the tumultuous 2020 have been revealed.

The Weeknd’s track ‘Blinding Lights’, released in late 2019 by Universal Music Group, took out the top spot in the Singles Chart, while Tones And I’s hit ‘Dance Monkey’ via Sony Music was the top local single.

Tones and I also had the #2 spot on the 2020 ARIA Australian Artists Singles Chart for ‘Never Seen The Rain’, as well as #8 (‘Bad Child’).

The 2020 ARIA Albums Top 10 was made up mostly of international artists, with Sony Music’s Harry Styles taking out #1 for Fine Line, Taylor Swift’s surprise folklore via Universal Music in #2, and Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? in #3.

ARIA noted Styles’ album actually only spent one week at #1 in 2020, but was in the top 10 for 48 weeks, giving it an enduring popularity.

AC/DC’s PWR/UP from Sony Music Entertainment was #1 on the ARIA Australian Artists Albums Chart, with Tame Impala, Guy Sebastian, The Kid Laroi, and the compilation Music From The Home Front all making the top five.
