1300 signs with New World Artists: Exclusive
1300 are dialing it up with a new agency deal.
The Sydney-based Korean rap outfit signs with Edwin Tehrani at New World Artists, the independent live music booking agency and concert tour promoter, where they join a roster including Allday, Mallrat, Northlane, Spiderbait and many more.
“We’re keen to join the roster of wildly talented and diverse artists at New World,” reads a statement from the act. “Edwin is a cool dude and equally excited as we are to develop our vision and live show.”
The 1300 story has been building support slots their hometown with 3K, Shady Nasty, Genesis Owusu and more, and began their recording journey proper with the January release of their first track, ‘Brr’.

The tune got kudos from Korean rappers Paloalto and Lil Boi, and, soon after, Jonny Blackwell from management company Holy Moly Artists (Raj Mahal, Lil Spacely, Somber Hills) entered the picture.
With Blackwell’s support, 1300 dropped ‘No Caller ID’ on March 31.
The tune spread fast via Triple J Unearthed when Tommy Faith shared it on his blog Sound Doctrine.
“I don’t throw fives around all too often but from the first percussive loop to the bars in Korean, the English lyrics the synth switch-ups,” Faith said at the time. “It’s a phenomenal record top to bottom. 1300 just became my favourite new Australian outfit.”
From that point, ‘No Caller ID’ group was added to Triple J spot rotation, and on FBI Radio, it was picked up The Drip and The Hybrid playlists on Spotify, and the official music video was premiered on Acclaim Magazine.
That’s when New World came calling.
“The energy these guys bring to their project is second to none,” notes Tehrani. “They really hold their own space and have their own sound. We are very excited to be working with 1300 and look forward to building a long-term career with them.”
The lads will show-off that energy when they perform Thursday (June 17) at Powerhouse Museum, and again this Friday with the likes of Taka Perry and PNAU at South Eveleigh. Additionally, they’ll be performing alongside Jono Ma’s event Cities of Gold at Hotel Harry this Saturday in Sydney.
A third single ‘Smashmouth’ is coming soon.
New World Artists was founded in 2006 and has offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
